Melipotis indomita

Description:

This erebid moth was seen at the mercury vapor light sheet. The larvae of this moth feed on prosopis, which can be found in similar areas, that mesquite thrive in.

Habitat:

In my garden, Fort Worth, Texas.

Notes:

It is found from the West Indies to Mexico and Brazil and from Maine to Florida to Minnesota to Texas and California.
