Cryptic Katydid

Description:

A marvelously cryptic katydid that must live on bark. I found him on a leaf (last two pictures) but when placed on the bark of a pine tree, he disappears! This must still be a nymph, as the wing pads are very small. The eyes are psychedelic. The body was 2 cm long, the antennae were 5 cm! Family Tettigoniidae.

Habitat:

Semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico 2,200 meters.
