Description:

Snake about 4 - 5 feet long moving about in branches of large tree. Distinctive pattern repeats down the length of its spine, while the underside of the snake is light gray to white in color.

Habitat:

Hardwood trees, farm house and buildings, and cultivated fields, along the West Fork of the Red River. Pembroke, Kentucky.

Notes:

The snake moved about in the tree for several hours, stretching out full length on a branch to sun, moving from branch to branch, and finally retreating into a knot hole, out of sight.
