It's okay- I totally do the same thing all the time. You figure out what kind of plant it is, then you notice that there's an insect on it. It's all good.

Marilyn it's about the butterfly. Which is a Fritillary species but I can't narrow down which one. There are so many patterns and I just haven't found this one.

It's either purple fleabane or wild purple aster. Can't tell for sure without seeing the leaves.
