Burrowing Owl

Athene cunicularia

Habitat:

Agricultural fields

Notes:

While birding around my patch in Buckeye, AZ. I found a Burrowing Owl standing a few feet away from its burrow. The bird allowed me to get fairly close to where I could get some decent photos. Although I see this bird almost every day of my lifer, it never gets old!
