Yes, this is a southern alligator lizard, Elgaria multicarinata. The location of the spotting puts in the area of 2 subspecies of this species. That is the California alligator lizard and the San Diego alligator lizard. See http://www.californiaherps.com/lizards/l... and links on that page.

I believe its name is "California Alligator Lizard" but I could be wrong.
