Description:

Adult female keeping an eye on her chick. Two chicks of different ages on ground; the older was pulling its down out.

Habitat:

Isolated coral islet. Vegetation is Ironwood (Pemphis acidula) and Purslane (Portulaca oleracea)

Notes:

I was sitting still a few metres from chicks. Local names: bird is Kapu; Ironwood is Ngangie; Purslane is Katuri
