Azure Aster

Aster oolentangiensis

Description:

The flower heads, arranged in an elongate cluster, have 10 to 20 blue or purplish rays. It is usually 1 to 2 feet tall. The lower leaves are elongate, somewhat heart-shaped.

Habitat:

Spotted at Tamarac near the Discovery Center. Grows in Minnesota in dry prairies and meadows in the south and west.
