Description:

Underside of a male of A. crataegi. Sex can be discerned from the venation colour: black in males and dark brown in females. Big butterfly in the Pieridae family, with a wingspan of 50-58 mm. Often found on shrubs.

Habitat:

Open area with shrubs in a pine tree forest. Parque Nacional de Sierra de Guadarrama
