Description:

Small yellow mushroom with a slightly enlarged base and a cracked cap. I don't have any other shots because it was too high for me too reach and I am "vertically challenged".

Habitat:

Mixed forest - growing on a snag that had partially fallen over.

Thank you! Unfortunately, I was only able to get this one shot because I couldn't reach the mushroom. This is most likely Gymnopilus sp., but I don't think I'll be able to ID it to species level.

awesome pic, if you have the opportunity to take any more photos of this mushroom can you get a snap of under the cap also, makes it easier to identify. Im no expert but picking up a challenge to identify mushrooms has always been fun for me
