Common Crow Caterpillar molting

Description:

As caterpillars grow, their exoskeleton becomes tight on them, so they molt (lose their old exoskeleton). Ecdysone is the molting hormone of insects. It causes an insect to molt. Here you can see that this fellow is starting the Molting process by getting rid of its tightly fitting headgear.

Habitat:

Feeds on Ficus arnonttiana (Moraceae)
