Spotting

Description:

Found him drowning in our rainwater-filled kiddie pool. It was on April 4th around 5pm on a clear sunny day in the middle of town in SE TX. He was actually one of the coolest creatures I've ever found! He was colored spectacularly and had a horn just like a rhinoceros. He crawled at a relatively slow pace but hastened if you messed with him. He flew away with a low "buzzz" like a fat bee.

Habitat:

My backyard, middle of town

Notes:

His little orange "feelers" retract inside of his head plating when he is disturbed or not using them
