Moon Jelly

Aurelia aurita

Description:

A small translucent disc shaped jellyfish. It has small tentacles hanging down from the bell.

Notes:

I’ve read various accounts of their stings. Some say it doesn’t have any effect on people, others say it has about the same effect as a bee sting. Roundhouse Aquarium, Manhattan Beach, California
