Spotting

Description:

Cone-shaped bagworm with lichens growing on it. It had a slightly scaly texture when I looked closely. The camouflage was almost perfect except it was slightly paler than the stems of this plant, but it was covered in the same lichens as the Wolfberry plant, making it hardly noticeable.

Habitat:

On Carolina Wolfberry (Lycium carolinianum) next to a stream in a salt marsh.
