Unknown Spotting

Description:

Beetle: I saw this beetle, resting in one of the sinks, inside my house, at 6:45 a.m. in the morning. This beetle, was dark brown in color. This beetle, was one fourth of an inch long. It had two, elbowed antennae, and two, compound eyes. It had four wings, and six legs. Typical, beetles have two pairs of wings, but the front pair, called elytra, are stiff, and not used for flying. It had a head, thorax, and an abdomen. It had spines on its legs, pointing downwards. Beetles, are a group of insects, that form the order Coleoptera. Beetles are endopterygotes, which mean they undergo complete metamorphosis. This beetle was alive, and able to move.

Habitat:

Beetles are found in almost all types of habitats, but are not known to occur in the sea, or in the polar regions. Coleoptera, are found in nearly all natural habitats, including freshwater and marine habitats, everywhere vegetative foliage is found, from trees and there bark to flowers, leaves and underground near roots - even inside plants in galls, in every plant tissue, including dead or decaying ones.
