Eubaphe unicolor
Completely orange moth, 1 cm long. The head, thorax, abdomen and both pairs of wings are orange. A small black margin runs along the bottom of the first pair of wings. Blue Eyes. Family Geometridae. Pictures 4 and 5 are of a different individual photographed on 14 August 2014. This one lacks the black border along the bottom of the wings.
Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Thank you Daniela. You seem to be right about the species, even with the dark line on the wing margins. I found some other pictures of the species with the dark line present. The leg color also seems to vary from pale orange to black.

Amazing what a distribution it has!
Hi Lauren! Nice moth...Looks like Eubaphe unicolor--Orange Beggar except for the grey margin. The past summer was very common to see them around here, but not this one.
