Description:

•They eat insects, spiders and other arthropods, acorns, nuts, pine cones, seeds, fruits, occasionally eating lizards, nestling birds and minnows. •Their main predators are birds of prey and house cats. The predators of nestlings and eggs are owls, pileated woodpeckers, red-headed woodpeckers, black rat snakes and grey rat snakes. •They defend their nests and young aggressively, attacking predators that come near the nest.
