Drupadia theda
A pair of small Drupadia butterflies mating quietly on a leaf. Sexual dimorphism is present as you can the that difference in the shades of brown between the male and the female (though I am not sure which is the male or the female). The wings may look dull but there is a striking metallic blue on the inner sides on the wings which makes them look sparkling when flying low on the forest floor.
Found it in the foliage beside the Canopy Bridge trails in Tawau Hills Park, Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia. This species lives in this tropical rain forest area.
>>>Map accuracy : 3km radius. Spotted this with Dan on the way back from the canopy walk. Dan's spotting of it - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/236... Other posts: https://www.facebook.com/groups/16372839...
