Sylvia cantillans subsp. albistriata
The adult male has a grey back and head, brick-red underparts, and white malar streaks ("moustaches"). Eastern subalpine warbler differs from the nominate race by its deeper blue-grey upperparts, a blackish mask on the lores and ear-coverts, brick reddish-brown coloration confined to the throat and breast and sharply demarcated from a largely white belly, paler flanks and a wider white submoustachial stripe.
Breeds in the southernmost areas of Europe and northwest Africa. This small passerine bird is migratory, and winters along the southern edge of the Sahara. Spotted in mount Chortiatis (Thessaloniki, Greece).
Greek common name: Κοκκινοτσιροβάκος.

Nice photos and spotting, Kostas...well done!
Well done on your nomination Kostas. A lovely series and great spotting!
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
