Sherman's Fox Squirrel

Sciurus niger shermani

Description:

A State Species of Special Concern and an imperiled species due to concerns of habitat loss.

Habitat:

These two were hanging out in a neighborhood with lots of pasture, pine, and oak. They prefer areas with tall pines and little undergrowth such as this. This is one of the only places I ever see them.
