Small Leaf Fig

Ficus obliqua

Description:

One of the reasons Fig Birds don’t have toilets is because massive trees grow out of their poo. This tree has been named the Helicopter Tree because on the 21st of May 2016 the tree deliberately caught Oliver’s Helicopter and refused to give it back. It is still there today and we wonder if the roots will grow around it so that one day a root will reach the ground as thick as an arm and have the blade of a helicopter sticking out of it. This tree is the Guardian of Sandpaper Coral on Green Island.
