The Abert's towhee is related to sparrows and is recognized by their relatively long tails, dark faces, and overall brown plumage.

Habitat:

Spotted at the Sweetwater Wetland Preserve in Arizona. This bird is common in brushy riparian habitats in the Lower Sonoran desert.
