Description:

Very small passerine bird (~10cm), with medium-sized, down-curved black bill. Overall a dark sunbird, with bright scarlet throat and light green patch on the front head.

Habitat:

Feeding on nectar, usually perching and not hovering like a hummingbird. Common breeder in sub-Saharan tropical Africa shrublands and savannas. These one were spotted on the fringes of the Saloum Delta National Park.
