Acridotheres tristis
Medium sized bird. Chocolate coloured with yellow eye patch and beak. One of a pair is bald. It did not prevent it from attracting a mate and nesting. Apparently balding is common in mynahs.
Delhi....residential colony.
http://besgroup.blogspot.in/2006/02/bald... Pesticide poisoning leads to balding but then, all the other mynahs in the colony escaped this fate.,,,so likely not food contamination http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/279...

Thanks Ava T-B. Let's hope so...but since the baldness was not interfering with its ability to attract a mate and build a nest (I was not able to see if eggs had been laid) hopefully the rest of its life was , as doctors say, " uneventful."
What interesting notes! I hope it recovers from whatever has made it bald.
That is why I love PN, Hema. During my research days there was this very bold crow that would snatch the pesticide treated experimental mice from the bin (before disposal) and eat the bodies. It lost all its feathers on its head! But this myna was normal.
so much to learn!!and to think one knows it all! What an illusion!
very interesting , Sukanya!!
