Syrphidae
Similar at first glance to a local honey bee.
This one is on the north side of a mountain at aprox. 1500ft altitude. Completely surrounded by forest. We have them thick on the Azaleas.
With over 6000 species I'm not going to go any deeper than the family name. It is great to know how beneficial they are.
