Habitat:

prefers moist, well drained, sometimes sandy soil in coastal plains, pinelands, woods, thickets. Tolerant of soils with considerable amounts of clay.

Notes:

A very pretty flower growing along side trail among tall grass and other wild flowers and shrubs.
