Common Garter Snake

Description:

Most Common Garter Snakes have yellow stripes on a brown or green background, and their average total length is about 55 cm.

Habitat:

Indigenous to North America and found widely across the continent. I spotted this snake on the side of a river at Bent of the River Audubon.
