Feathered Shell Fungus

Description:

Small fungal bodies that look all the world like little shells covered in feathers. About 1 cm diameter each. They are bark colored and not easily noticeable, with stripes along the lower edges. They seem to be arising from a white fungal mat.

Habitat:

On a rotting log along the San Vicente River, Chiflón Waterfall Park, Chiapas, Mexico.
