Description:

Large Papilionid butterfly. Pale yellow with black stripes on forewings. This species has dimorphic females (come in both yellow and black). Yellow female morphs are very similar to males--but females have a light (powdery) dusting of blue color near the blue/orange markings of the upperside of the hindwings. This specimen is a female.

Habitat:

Dirt road/sunlit clearing near dense, moist mixed hardwood forest.
