Description:

Black and yellow social insect, with brown transparent wings and orange antennae. Bilds nest facing downwards.

Habitat:

Common European species, here observed in marshes of Etournel - several colonies constructing nests in bird-watching shelters. The marshes in question are place where a series of ponds forms on banks of river Rhône as it flew out of Geneva lake. Protected area.
