Mesosa Longicorn Beetle

Description:

Longueur : 9 - 15 mm Durée du cycle de développement : 2 à 3 ans Habitat : Sur les branches mortes, les troncs d'arbres et les tas de bûches. Larves dans de nombreux arbres feuillus. Nourriture : Epoque d'observation de l'adulte : Avril à août. Distribution (non exhaustive) : Toute la France. Assez commun. Identification : Large et court. Les antennes de mâles dépassant l'apex des élytres de 3 à 5 articles, celles des femelles l'atteignant. Antennes et pattes brunes, annelées de gris pâle. Dessus parsemé de gros points noirs et recouvert de pubescence brun roux, avec 2 bandes longitudinales brun noir sur le vertex, 4 sur le pronotum et des fascies ondulées et des taches de même couleur sur les élytres, qui ont une large fascie médiane et 2 petites taches en avant de celle-ci, gris blanchâtre.

Habitat:

Looks like its very common in France. The species is polyphagous. The larva develops in the wood of different species of broadleaves. The adult appears in early spring and remains active for a short period ( Pesarini and Sabbadini 1994 ). ref. EOL - http://eol.org/pages/3399628/overview

Cerambycidae, Lamiinae, Mesosa nebulosa. Although it is not impossible, but it is very rare to find a beetle from the Philippines in France. There are some invasive beetles from Asia found in Europe and elsewhere, but not Callimetopus longicollis, which look slightly different:
