Woollsia pungens
Woollsia pungens is an erect, prickly shrub, 20cm - 2m, found in sandstone heaths and woodland. It exudes a sweet clover-like smell in winter, hence the name pungens (pungent). The 6-12mm leaves are pointed and densely crowded along the stems. The flowers are usually white, but can vary from pink to purplish. They cover the upper parts of the stems.
