Low density suburban development, areas peripheral to core urban areas, and small towns, Agricultural habitat, Recently disturbed, early successional community. Somewhat arboreal species is usually seen close to the ground, often perching head downward, on tree trunks, shrubs, fence posts, building walls, brush piles, and rock piles.
I like how this guy looked against the lichen. There seems to be a nice population of these here at Fairchild Botanical Garden.
