The Yellow Thornbill is found in open forests, woodlands and shrublands which are dominated by Casuarinas, Acacias or paperbarks rather than eucalypts. Often seen in parks and gardens, preferring more established areas. (From Birds in Backyards) My backyard is very established so obviously why I have seen this bird a number of times
I'm pretty sure that this is an Eastern Yellow Robin, but happy to be corrected if I am wrong :-). Update as of 20th May 2016. I was wrong with the species and have corrected it.
