Varanus salvator
Water monitor, is a large lizard native to South and Southeast Asia. Water monitors are one of the most common monitor lizards found throughout Asia, and range from Sri Lanka and India to Indochina, the Malay Peninsula, and various islands of Indonesia, living in areas close to water. In this case the land monitor what is found in Sri Lanka is a species which endemic to Sri Lanka.
Commonly can be seen near waterways, streams, slallow waterways and rivers that moves slowly. Also can be seen then diging for food near where there are gabage. Food contains dead animals and rotton meat near waterways.
