This could be Plestiodon fasciatus or Plestiodon inexpectatus, both are "five-lined skinks" inhabiting your area. I wanted to say Plestiodon inexpectatus, but really to be sure you need to see the scales on the underside of the tail http://www.virginiaherpetologicalsociety...
