Trametes Versicolor

Description:

Bracket fungi with distinctive zones of color, slightly velvety feeling on top. Underside has very small pores and is a light cream color. Is thin and flexible with a slight, pleasant odor.

Habitat:

Grows on dead trees in a moist environment, found in a forest of oak, beech, hickory, and maple.

Notes:

Very common and prolific fungus in this area of Southern Ohio.
