Ghost Crab

Ocypode quadrata

Description:

scuttling along looking for food. As you can see in the pictures the ghost crab will flatten itself to the sand line when approached by a potential threat.

Habitat:

These crabs can be found all over the Gulf of Mexico and as far up the Atlantic as Rhode Island. Very active at night although they can be spotted during the day
