It was a great spotting. Yes, its always good to know which insects to worry about and which not to. :)

Thank you!!! We thought (ok husband thought) maybe something related to fireflies, but somehow we couldn't find pictures to match, until Tom15's id. Seems like they are a bit uneventful in the fire aspect of fireflies, but now I can be amused by them instead of worried.
