Checked out your link Martin. I couldn't find anything close.I looked at some other beetle shots and youve got some amazing photos. Have you encountered Mark Golding and his series of beetle books?

Thanks for steering me in the right direction. I see most are small but this is a very interesting monster.
It's a weevil of the Superfamily Curculionoidea
