Lepas pectinata
Close relative of the barnacles and even more of the Lepas anatifera; up to 15 mm in length, with white valves or with bluish tones in live specimens, somewhat translucent. Unlike L. anatifera, L. pectinata have much smaller size, a much sharper "nail" (capitulum) at its end and of more grayish color, a peduncle much smaller in size in relation to the "nail" and whitish color and, above all, that precious sculpture of radial lines that start from two points of the plates very distant from each other.
On a slipper thrown on the beach after a storm. It generally grows on floating objects, such as wood or boats.
