Prairie Robber-Fly

Diogmites angustipennis

Description:

A specimen of the prairie robber fly. Of the genus Diogmites, also known as Hanging Thieves. This guy was pretty aggressive flying at us and whatnot, although maybe we where just in the way of his flight pattern. Good sized insect, and very neat.

North America.
