A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife

Rescued gibbons housed at the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project in Phuket. This voluntary organisation, funded entirely by donations, is a shelter for gibbons rescued from the tourist photo trade or from private owners who have mistreated or been unable to look after their gibbons. Some have been so badly treated they will need to stay at the centre for the rest of their lives. However, the ultimate aim for most of the rescued gibbons is for them to be gradually released back into the wild. This has been done successfully on a number of occasions, and there are now several breeding groups in the national park forest surrounding the centre! http://www.gibbonproject.org/
