Description:

Spring is back on tracks - seen a plentitude of wood mice today in marshes. Small, about 10 cm long with less than that in tail, mainly red-grey with rounded ears and large black eyes.

Habitat:

Seen in protected marshes on France-Switzerland border, in woods bordering wetlands. There were many of them and pics N° 1 and 6 depict the entrance to the nest - judging by the numbers going in out that tree, it must be a whole mice-village underneath...
