Banded Tussock Caterpillar

Halysidota tessellaris

Description:

These fuzzy critters were everywhere!

Habitat:

All over everything in Lake Catherine State Park that summer. Thankfully, none were found stepped on.

Notes:

Tussock caterpillars can be differentiated from Tiger moth caterpillars because of the long whiskers on the front and back of them.
