Yellowtail damselfish

Microspathodon chrysurus

Description:

The older they get, the less conspicuous is the yellow tail. In the last pic there is a hidden juvenile and this one still has the bright yellow tail and blue colors. The mature fish is more brownish but still conserves the blue dots in the dorsal part of body and face.

Habitat:

Seen in a variety of different dive sites in Bonaire, mostly in shallow sand bottoms with scattered corals, hiding on the latter.
