Wood Frog

Lithobates sylvaticus

Description:

Wood frogs come in varying shades of brown and red. They have a black marking over their eyes, which looks like a robber’s mask. This frog had amazing camouflage and was approximately 1 inch long.

Habitat:

Spotted on the side of a nature trail in a forest with lots of vernal pools at Roaring Brook Nature Center.
