Project Noah Fun Fact: Mermaid's wineglass is found along the coastal areas of Florida, the Bahamas and Caribbean. It is a small plant that anchors itself to rocks, bits of shells or even wood along shallow protected areas of reef, coral rubble or adjacent seagrass beds and mangrove areas. It can grow singly or in bunches as pictured here. It is a type of algae and was given its name because of the cuplike discs.
