Pied Lacewing

Porismus strigatus

Description:

This lacewing species belonging to the family Osmylidae have dark black/blue colour wings with an orange head with black eyes and antennae.

Habitat:

Wetland, Eucalyptus (Stringybark) tree

Notes:

These species were frequently spotted in a flooded area in Creswick Victoria, where Stringybark Eucalyptus was commonly found. (Sem Urban area). Pairs were seen taking flights and coming back to the same tree and facing each other.
