Description:

Large garter snake found on the side of the house.

Habitat:

In leaf litter on the side of a house, near a wooded area, small pond, and field.

Notes:

Kept in a large plastic container for a few minutes to watch and ID. Climbed out on it's own, and took a leap of the porch. Identified with Peterson's Field Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians of Central and Eastern North America.
